A meeting was held regarding the implementation of the "Batižele" development project.

On Monday, August 26, 2019, a meeting was held at the Ministry of State Property and an agreement was reached regarding the implementation project "Batižele".

The meeting was attended by Minister of State Property Mario Banožić, Minister of Environmental Protection and Energy Tomislav Ćorić, State Secretary Krunoslav Katičić, Assistant Minister Leon Žulj, Mayor of the City of Šibenik Željko Burić, Deputy Mayor Danijel Mileta, Director of Croatian Waters Zoran Đuroković and Director of the Environmental Protection Fund and energy efficiency Dubravko Ponoš with colleagues and the director of CERP Milan Plećaš. It was agreed that in the next two weeks all activities that precede the convening of the Assembly of Batižele d.o.o. will be completed. at which, among other things, the share capital will be defined, as well as appropriate decisions regarding recapitalization will be made. Upon completion of the recapitalization procedure, an international public tender is expected to be announced, which will be carried out in accordance with the Law on the Management of State Assets. Furthermore, an agreement was reached on the formation of an expert committee that will participate in the preparation and implementation of the optimal model for the disposal of shares, which is a key issue in the "Batižele" development project.

Let us remind you that at the session held in May 2019, the Government adopted a decision harmonizing the amounts of claims that the Republic of Croatia and other legal entities have against TEF Šibenik with the aim of implementing an increase in the share capital of the newly founded company Batižele, and the final amounts of the company's recapitalization were determined.

The total amount of recapitalization of the company amounts to HRK 148,115,600, of which the City of Šibenik participates with HRK 53,040,600, the Republic of Croatia with HRK 67,154,500, the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund with HRK 25,852,700, and Croatian Water with HRK 2,067,800.

After the increase in the share capital of the company Batižela, the share of the City of Šibenik from the initial 100 percent will amount to 67.95 percent, and the new shareholders will be the Republic of Croatia with 22.64 percent, the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund with 8.71 percent, and Hrvatske vode with 0.70 percent.

With the implementation of the "Batižele" project, the neglected area of the former TEF will be put into operation. The issue of TEF land has been a long-standing problem of all city authorities in Šibenik, and the Batižele project includes over 200,000 square meters that have been freed from all debts, while the claims of the state have been converted into shares. The area of the former factory is planned for mixed use, where investors would build a new settlement, residential-business, accommodation, cultural and educational capacity on land worth HRK 350 million, and new catering-tourism facilities with two thousand beds are planned.
