The meeting was attended by State Secretary Sanja Bošnjak, Assistant Minister Ivana Pintar, Member of Parliament Hrvoje Zekanović, Deputy Mayor Danijel Mileta and Head of the Board of Directors for City Property Management Tihomir Paškov.

The mayor informed Minister Horvat about all the steps that the City of Šibenik has taken so far regarding the realization of the Batižele project. He reminded that in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and with the help of ARUP consulting company from Spain, the documents Development Strategy and Action Plan and implementation priorities were prepared. The mentioned documents which initiate the activation of the assets of Batižele d.o.o. with the aim of economic development of the City of Šibenik, the City Council of the City of Šibenik adopted it at a special thematic session

At the meeting, it was determined that based on the Agreement on the Regulation of Mutual Relations between the Republic of Croatia and the City of Šibenik, a Commission should be established for the purpose of preparing the conditions and implementation of the international public tender, and it was defined that the representatives of the state in the Commission will be assistant ministers Ivana Pintar and Leon Žulj.

"We have determined the exact agrorhythm of the dynamics of further actions that will lead to the launch of the Batižele project, and we are talking about one of the largest brownfield investments in the Republic of Croatia. All the procedures that will take place in the coming period between the City and the state aim for physical construction on that area to begin within two and a half years," said Mayor Željko Burić, addressing the media after the meeting.

Minister Horvat emphasized that there is an excellent synergy between the city and the Ministry with the common goal of putting this valuable space into operation, that is, finding a strategic partner.

"It's a good thing that we currently have a ministry in the government that unites the departments of state property, spatial planning and construction, because all these elements will be key to bringing this project to fruition. The appearance of the space, which is currently unused and represents the pearl of the city of Šibenik, will be left up to the people who live here. We agreed today that the project must get professional management that will deal with this 24 hours a day, clearly articulate all the problems, and the City and the state are there to help them solve all the problems," Minister Horvat concluded.
