The Batižele development project was presented at the 5th Adriatic Investment Forum

The 5th Adriatic Investment Forum on the theme "My Croatia 2030" is being held at The Westin Hotel in Zagreb, organized by Dr. Miljenko Bura from Šibenik, Bura Medical Group.

Mayor Željko Burić presented the development strategy of the City of Šibenik at the gathering, which, along with representatives of state institutions, brings together local and foreign experts from various fields to present their vision of the development of Croatia until 2030.

"Through careful strategic planning, Šibenik turned from a city of large industrial plants and heavy industry to small and medium-sized enterprises, digital technologies and higher education, and the transformation was significantly influenced by numerous projects implemented with European funds, with a special emphasis on the restoration and revitalization of cultural heritage. The tourist renaissance that followed this process raised the visibility of Šibenik and increased interest in investments" - Mayor Burić emphasized, among other things.

In the part of the presentation of investment programs, Šibenik is also represented at the Forum through the Batižele Project, which, as Nina Kursar, director of Batižele d.o.o., said. covers an area of almost 225 thousand square meters by the sea at the western entrance to the town of Šibenik.

"The city of Šibenik, in cooperation with the EBRD and the company ARUP & Partners Internacional Ltd. Prepared a development strategy proposal for the Batižela area, which will be developed into a mixed-use district including residential buildings, hotels, retail, tourist facilities, and educational and recreational institutions. The new space concept inherits and updates the urban typology of the historic core of Šibenik and residential areas in order to preserve and strengthen the city's identity, while at the same time offering a destination with a unique character," said Kursar in her address.

Ivana Nakić from the Šibenik City Administrative Department for Economy, Entrepreneurship and Development also addressed the participants of the Forum, presenting in detail the key development determinants of Šibenik and numerous development projects.

This year's thematic units of the two-day 5th Adriatic Investment Forum, by the way, are divided into several panels: Development strategy of the Republic of Croatia until 2030, Regional development, island development, health as a condition and driver of development, Development strategy of selected counties, cities and companies, and Presentations of investment projects.

According to the organizers, the main topic of the Forum "My Croatia 2030" was chosen because a serious consideration of the overall development of Croatia is imposed as a need of the "generational" moment in which the country finds itself. The goal is to create better living and working conditions in Croatia and to use significant grants from various European Union funds to the greatest extent possible.
