The Batižele project was presented to investors at the sixteenth international conference on real estate development

The Batižela development project was presented today in Zagreb at the sixteenth international conference on real estate development, which was opened by the Minister of Culture, Nina Obuljen Koržinek.

"The city of Šibenik - a new period of urban regeneration - an in-depth look at Šibenik, the Development Project of Batižela" - is the name of the panel where the initiatives and investments in the city of Šibenik, with an emphasis on projects implemented through European funds, were presented by mayor Željko Burić and deputy Danijel Mileta. Leon Žulj, on behalf of the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Construction and State Property, Susana Isabel, representative of ARUP and Henry Fletcher, on behalf of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, also took part in the panel.

"Šibenik has been cited in recent years as an example of a city that has achieved a significant step forward in development. First of all, we invest in the development of the economy, which is our foundation, we have revitalized the cultural heritage that is our identity and breathed life into it, we have created the conditions for the development of tourism and we are strongly advocating for the development of higher education in Šibenik. The million-dollar projects that we have realized, such as the Poljana town square, the Šibenik Agglomeration, and the Triangle Center, which have made the image of our city significantly different, are only an introduction to what needs to happen in the area of the former Electrode and Ferroalloy Factory. That industry fell into oblivion a long time ago, and we have gone through a difficult and arduous path fighting to make this extremely valuable area a pledge for the future of Šibenik. Today, we are here, together with our partners, the relevant ministry, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and we present to investors the most valuable land on the Adriatic at the moment," said Mayor Burić.

We remind you that last year the City Council of the City of Šibenik adopted the Development Strategy - Urban Regeneration of the Abandoned Industrial Zone in Šibenik and the Action Plan and Implementation Priority - Urban Regeneration of the Abandoned Industrial Zone in Šibenik, which was prepared by the company Arup & PartnersInternational Ltd., chosen on the basis of a public tender conducted by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

"Urban regeneration of an area like Batižel requires time, effort, courage and a lot of knowledge. We hope that together we will succeed in the urban regeneration project and that it will be one of the beautiful places that the local population will benefit from and will certainly put Šibenik on the map of Croatia as one of the most innovative cities", said Henry Fletcher, representative of the EBRD- And.
