The activity schedule of the Batižele Development Project has been determined

 

A meeting was held today in the Arsen House of Art on the topic of future steps in the implementation of the Batižela Development Project, and it was attended by representatives of the City of Šibenik, the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Construction and State Property, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, advisory experts and a representative of the Croatian Parliament. hosted by Batižele d.o.o.

After an open tender for the selection of consultants for Phase 2 - Urban renovation of the Šibenik brownfield, project preparation services, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) signed a contract on consulting services with Mazars Cinotti Consulting d.o.o. in June. & partners (Colliers Croatia, Slaughter and May and M&S Partners).

The aforementioned consulting team, which presented itself to the public today, will provide advisory support to Batižele d.o.o. in the preparation and implementation of an international competitive and transparent market offer. The project was financed through the Austrian EBRD fund 'CREATE' for urban renewal and the environment.

"Today, we established a communication protocol, the obligation of monthly reporting to stakeholders on the progress of the project during the implementation of the project, whereby the consultants should complete the entire project task, which includes the preparation of the necessary analyses, support in the preparation of tender documents, the selection of the best investor and the preparation of a partnership agreement with the selected investor", said director Nina Kursar.

The mayor of Šibenik, Željko Burić, pointed out that this is a first-class destination that will define the future of Šibenik.

"We continue our excellent cooperation with the team of the Ministry and the EBRD, and today we are defining the future steps in implementation. The City's wish is for the area of ​​Batižela to be a new city quarter based on the old core with numerous facilities for public needs, and I am convinced that we will succeed in this, to the benefit of all our fellow citizens," said Burić.

The EBRD has been supporting the Batižela project since the first phase, providing strategic support services in the preparation of the Development Strategy and Action Plan of Batižela with implementation priorities. The Batižele project is recognized as one of the leading brownfield conversion projects in Šibenik and the wider region.

In the second phase of the project, the shareholders of Batižela d.o.o. agreed on the management structure of the project, whereby the EBRD provides technical assistance to Batižele d.o.o. as a user of the project. The EBRD will closely cooperate with Batižela d.o.o., the City of Šibenik, the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Construction and State Property and the consulting team to ensure the successful implementation of the international public tender.

The expected outcome is the selection of the investor/offer that best matches the Batižel Development Strategy, which was unanimously adopted at a special session of the City Council held on October 23, 2020.

Mazars and the consortium consisting of Colliers Croatia, MS Partners and Slaughter & May are proud to be part of this important project for the City of Šibenik and the whole of Croatia. The consortium is a mix of strong international players and local teams with local knowledge and expertise.

According to the established schedule, the publication of the international public tender is planned at the end of 2022, and the signing of the final partnership agreement with the selected investor is expected in 2023.
